Dear Degree Candidates:
We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments and want to celebrate this monumental period with you. We are planning a graduation celebration and a virtual conferring of degrees on Friday, May 8. Your department or college may also be planning a virtual celebration with you, as well.
Please know that this is not a replacement for your in-person commencement, as we realize nothing can replace such a treasured tradition. We are planning to hold a commencement ceremony for you at a time in the future when it is safe to do so.
For now, the conferral of degrees that will be offered via video for graduates is simply a way to mark this special event and celebrate your achievements, of which we are very proud.
In addition to the video that confers your degree, we are working on other exciting elements to mark this special occasion - including on social media - to celebrate with you. Watch for additional announcements in your university email accounts, Howdy portal, graduation.tamu.edu, and the university’s social media channels with #TAMUgrad.
We are so proud of you, and marvel at your accomplishments during these highly unusual times.
