Guidance on Spring 2020 Final Exams

The Office for Academic Innovation seeks to support instructors in preparation for final exams. The resources included below are for instructors who need assistance creating and administering exams in eCampus.

On-Demand Trainings Now Available!

We recommend instructors watch the following videos in sequence for an optimized learning experience. The video series walks you through building an exam shell, adding questions, setting point values, adding test settings, and finally, adding the exam to your course in eCampus.

  • Building an Exam in eCampus: This video will cover how to begin the process for creating an exam.  

  • Creating Multiple Choice Questions: This video will cover how to add a Multiple Choice question to an exam.  

  • Creating True/false Questions: This video will cover how to add a True or False question to an exam.

  • Creating Short Answer Questions: This video will cover how to add a Short Answer question to an exam.

  • Creating File Response Questions: This video will cover how to add a question that allows students to upload a file as an answer choice in an exam in eCampus.

  • Setting Question Point Values: This video will cover how to set point values for questions in an exam.

  • Test Options and Settings: This video is essential in ensuring your exam is set up properly for students to take your exam. We will cover how to set a timer, randomize questions, create an exam window of availability, and many others.

  • Test Availability Exceptions: This video will cover how to modify the test availability window in an exam. Common use of this tool includes test availability accommodations and excused absences.


Virtual Office Hours Available for Faculty Next Week!

The Office for Academic Innovation will hold virtual office hours twice a day April 27-29th. One session will be in the morning from 9 to 11 AM each day and the second session will be in the afternoon from 1 to 3 PM each day.
