Nominations Sought for Interim Dean, College of Arts and Sciences

Dear Texas A&M Community,

Nominations are being sought from within Texas A&M University for candidates to serve as the Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. The new College of Arts and Sciences will consist of 19 departments offering graduate and undergraduate degree options in the disciplines of liberal arts, sciences, and geosciences with a total enrollment approaching 14,000 students.

Nominees must be a tenured full professor at Texas A&M University with an appointment in one or more of the academic units in the new college. Preferred characteristics include:
  • Experience leading large, complex organizations;
  • Ability to bring three colleges together under a shared vision;
  • Investment in professional development of faculty and staff;
  • Ability to foster excellence in teaching, research, and service; and
  • Proven track record of support for interdisciplinary research.

A review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled by the President, with the approval of the Chancellor. For full consideration, applicant materials should be received by midnight Central Time (CT) April 8, 2022.
