Nominations Sought for Interim Dean and Associate Provost, Graduate and Professional School

Dear Texas A&M community,


Nominations are being sought from within Texas A&M University for candidates to serve as the Interim Associate Provost and Dean for the Graduate and Professional School. The Associate Provost and Dean is responsible for the leadership of the Graduate and Professional School and manages a $35 million budget, as well as more than 30 professional staff members.


The Graduate and Professional School provides services to nearly 16,000 graduate and professional students and more than 3,000 graduate faculty across the Texas A&M campus. The Graduate and Professional School advances a student-centered approach to strengthening and sustaining globally recognized graduate and professional education at Texas A&M University. The school collaborates with graduate faculty, academic leaders, and staff throughout the university to advance academic excellence, champion equity, and support student success.


Nominees must be a tenured full professor at Texas A&M University with an appointment in one or more academic units. Preferred characteristics include:

  • Substantive and successful administrative and managerial experience in long-range planning, resource allocation, and personnel development;
  • Strong management skills, including stewardship of fiscal and human resources;
  • Ability to work effectively with university senior leadership along with staff, faculty, and students in implementing an ambitious strategic plan; and
  • Commitment to diversity among faculty, staff, and students.
