COVID-19 Updates
Student Updates, Resources, and Changes to Zoom
Published on Tue 09/08/20
Dear Students,
I hope your fall classes are going well and that you are adjusting to the new semester.
As you know, we made many changes over the summer to make the classrooms as safe as possible for our students and faculty. To date, we have no evidence of COVID-19 transmission in the classrooms. Please remember:
You can choose to participate in person or remotely unless you made a commitment to a specific instructor that you would use one approach over another;
The campus has many locations where you can participate in remote courses (library, computer labs, tents), read or study in between classes, or take a break;
All COVID-19 messages for students are located
here
; and
Keep wearing your face coverings and engaging in preventive behaviors to keep our campus safe so that we can continue in-person classes.
In conjunction with SGA, we have added a
Student Resource Portal
on the provost’s website as a one-stop shop for academic information. We have added a new section with information for you about faculty or staff non-compliance with COVID-19 policies.
Finally, starting September 27, Zoom will require that all meetings have a Passcode or a Waiting Room enabled. Thus, all
new
Zoom meetings scheduled at Texas A&M University already default to setting up both a Passcode and a Waiting Room.
For standing meetings and a Personal Meeting ID (PMI) that do not already have a Passcode or Waiting Room enabled, you will need to update your meetings
. Details are outlined
here
.
Sincerely,
Carol A. Fierke
Provost & Executive Vice President
