Mr. Chad E. Wootton serves as Associate Vice President for External Affairs in the Office of the Provost. In this role, he works closely with university administration to facilitate engagement efforts in public relations, community development, global and academic partnership services, educational outreach, and continuing education for constituents of Texas A&M.
Mr. Wootton received a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University in 1996. He leads a team of experienced organizers and relationship managers, who provide services to faculty, colleges, and university administration as Public Partnership & Outreach.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, Mr. Wootton has served in various roles in the Texas Agriculture Extension Service, 4H & Youth Development, Texas A&M Foundation, and Office of The President. He supported program development, events management, strategic initiatives, major gift solicitation, campaign planning, donor stewardship, and collaboration with university leadership across multiple colleges, programs, and communities. He serves as Treasurer of the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation and is on the Board of Directors of the McAllen Economic Development Corporation, in addition to numerous volunteer roles with civic organizations across Texas.
Mr. Wootton is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Public & Land Grant Universities and Vice Chair of the national Commission on Economic & Community Engagement.
