Dr. Tim Scott is the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Student Success. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Louisiana College, and a master’s in biology, and a Ph.D. in zoology, both from Texas A&M University. Prior to this role, Dr. Scott taught within the Biology Department and directed the Undergraduate Program, as well as serving as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs in the College of Science.
As Associate Provost, Dr. Scott oversees the Student Success Initiative for TAMU, managing advising, analytics, the First Generation Center, and Hullabaloo U. He has been a tireless advocate for Aggies for more than30 years. In addition to the Student Success Initiative, Dr. Scott oversees curriculum redesign projects for high-enrollment courses, helps to facilitate open education resources, and serves on the Provost Leadership Team.
Dr. Scott has built and directed many different learning communities through the years, including those for first-generation science majors, pre-service math and science teachers, and STEM transfer students. He is passionate about student success and achieving the retention and graduation goals of TAMU’s Student Success Initiative. Along with his other roles, Dr. Scott serves as the institutional lead for American Talent Initiative and the Powered by Publics Campaign of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities.
