Biography
For 25 years, Dr. Strawser has offered his expertise and leadership in support of Texas A&M University as a faculty member, an academic dean and as a university-level administrator. Prior to accepting the invitation to serve as Interim Provost and EVP, Dr. Strawser served as Associate Dean for Graduate Programs in the Mays Business School, after leading finance and operations as Texas A&M’s Chief Financial Officer and EVP of Finance and Operations for almost seven years. Before that, he served as Interim Provost and Executive Vice President, helping provide steady leadership during a time of transition.
As Associate Dean for Graduate Programs at Mays Business School, two new MBA programs were successfully launched – the Bahr ’91 Engineering MBA program and Flex Online MBA program – and the full-time MBA program’s ranking improved at the national level through Bloomberg Businessweek, U.S. News & World Report and Financial Times.
Jerry Strawser is Professor and KPMG Chair in the James Benjamin Department of Accounting at Mays Business School, as well as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas and has prior public accounting experience at two international accounting firms. He has also developed and delivered numerous executive development programs supporting large organizations, including AT&T, CenterPoint Energy, Continental Airlines, ConocoPhillips, Halliburton, Minute Maid, McDermott International and Shell, just to name a few.
Dr. Strawser is also a former student, having earned his B.B.A., M.S. and Ph.D. in Accounting from Texas A&M.
