The Office of the Provost, under the leadership of Alan Sams, executive vice president and provost, has responsibility for the academic enterprise of Texas A&M University. Home to more than 77,000 students and 4,173 faculty, we ensure that our students are supported and successful, faculty are empowered in research and scholarship, and that Texas A&M is delivering on world-class education, creating leaders for our future, and advancing research for the greater good.

The Provost’s portfolio consists of eight organizational focus areas that intentionally coalesce efforts to elevate faculty scholarship, student education and outcomes, and groundbreaking research and includes the deans of the schools and colleges and branch campuses.
